I work in a database with a large amount of objects and Toad performance is poor.
See the following for reference.
Object Type
Count
Default or DEFAULT constraints
35
Scalar functions
1
Inlined table-functions
1
PRIMARY KEY or UNIQUE constraints
172,050
Stored procedures
64
System tables
45
Table functions
2
Triggers
19,039
User tables
229,710
Views
6,996
Any suggestions on how to improve performance?

It sounds more like an issue of size than it is number of objects. Is the poor performance a total system issue or a query issue?

The database works fine. Toad seems to choke, pause, and start counting tables, indexes, etc.

My apologies. Unfortunately that is outside of my knowledge base. I could get into the whole “what are you system specs/settings/etc.” dialogue but that’s not going to help. I’ll have to leave this one to the software pro’s.
