Unable to see Tables or Synonyms in schema browser

Message from: Santhosh_03

Hi All,
I’m new here, apologies if my question already exists. I’m using TOAD
8.6 connected to Oracle 10g. I have connected to a database but when I open
schema browser there are no tables or synonyms showing, but when I query with
select * from cat; its giving me all the synonyms.

ANy inputs would be helpful.

Thanks.

I’d suggest taking a look at the obvious things first.

In Toad, you have many options. For example, you might only see the objects
owned by the schema you are logged in to vs all schemas vs a particular
selection of schemas based on the filter that is applied.

So… the obvious in this case would be to check to see if you’re
viewing objects strictly in the schema you are logged in to (which objects may
not exist for).

Check to see if a filter is applied.

If there’s a drop down on your view (there’s something like 3 or 4
different viewing styles with their own attributes) then perhaps open that up
and select a schema like SYS to see if objects appear.

Unfortunately I cannot step you through the menu selection or the screen
selection as Toad has been removed for me.
