I am currently running the Freeware version with DB2 10.1. on Windows 7 32 bit.
I want to upgrade and have downloaded the 5.1 version of Freeware Toad.
Are there any issues that I need to be aware of before installing. I can’t seem to find any upgrade/install docs for 5.1.
I don’t want to botch this since it is my production desktop.
Thanks
You should be able to install the new version side-by-side with the old. You’ll have a fallback if the new version doesn’t work out.
Thanks Adam.
Are the changes in 5.1 enough justification to upgrade from 4.7? I couldn’t find a change list.
Thanks
The change list is in the release notes. Definitely worth an upgrade.
Even more worth it is to go to the latest release. The freeware is always way behind the current version. If you’re working with 10.1 there’s plenty of updates you’ll use. Please give the latest beta a try.
Just a follow-up. The install was a “snap”. It does install in a separate folder, so you can run multiple versions side by side. During the install the wizard will ask if you want to import your existing connections to the new version. This software upgrade was the easiest I can remember. Thanks again, Adam, for your help.
