While fetching the record from dual using toad

Afternoon,

DUAL should always contain just 1 record ('X').

In Oracle versions prior to 9i, it was possible for some rogue or
vagabond with a warped sense of humour, to add an extra row to DUAL.
Most irritating indeed.

From 9i onwards, Oracle specifically prevented this from happening.

The fact that you appear to have a 'Z' is indicating that someone
somewhere may have been playing tricks. Or something similar.

Good luck.

Cheers,
norm. [TeamT]
