Behavior of Grouping in Tables & Views

Hello,

we have a potentially exotic requirement, but would be grateful, if it could be taken into consideration:

When you have a table or view and drag a column into the group panel the list gets grouped by this column as it should be. But it also is made invisible, which is really painful for us, as we do real time maintenance using the groups and have to make it visible by hand again.

Therefore we would really appreciate, if a the possibility could be created, that a Toad installation could be set to VISIBLE for all grouped columns. As result the data then would still be grouped, but the column would remain visible and possible to edit.

Hi Kaspar,

You can make a grouped column visible like this:

Here you can see that I've grouped by JOB

To make the JOB column visible again, just click in the top-left corner of the grid and then check the JOB column (or you can just check (All) at the top)

...but I guess you know all that, and you just want it to not go invisible in the first place.

I will add it as an option under Options -> Data Grids -> Behavior for version 2026 R1
