Book for Toad for SQL

Are there any books out there for Toad for MS SQL Server?

Will,

My name is Hank Freeman and I am a user of long-standing in the Toad-SS product
and Toad-SS-Beta program. I don’t and cannot represent Quest software in
any capacity other than a loyal user, with a Frog Tatoo … (Sorry Friday
night humor). So please take the below comments in this light.

Trust me, I really don’t know anything about a Toad-SS book series, but I
like your simple request for I have asked about it myself over the years of
product development since I have been working with Quest Toad SS as a Beta
tester since David Christian, Johnny Ortega and others started the project
before NOAH finished his boat (2005)… Today (June 2010) It is an excellent
product that does more that SSMS and competitive products have ever considered
especially since it will work on SS-2000 à 2008 and Azure (See latest Beta
Release)…

Several years ago they (Quest SS development) explored the idea of a set if
Video Vignettes that supersede the release demo on the official Website that was
suppose to teach SS, for as I recall they discussed the new features in the
release or the current Beta. I have no idea what the status of these teaching
tools, but I liked the idea across the broad spectrum of Quest products, but I
don’t believe the effort was sustained.

However ! As I previously have stated, I think your simple question needs to be
expounded/commented upon and hopefully those in Quest Toad SS Development and
Support management will see the value of release and beta teaching videos, where
the later could be part of the release just like the software product/code.
Additionally, I know from several years back there were some sales support folks
who could put on an excellent demo via WebEx, so maybe just maybe marketing has
captured some that are current or have something for you to review. I simply do
not know as a user if these are alive or dead.

Bottom Line, I like your idea and I also like the YOU-Tube type approach and
hopefully others will make constructive comments along this line. As for me I
actually read the release letters for the Beta Release and I try to figure out
what, how and where I can use the new features that are appearing in every Beta
Drop.

if you are not part of the Beta Program, I suggest you consider being a member,
which you can find at these links. The community is strong and other user(s)
issues with the Beta Program are very instructional for the Beta program is one
of a few venues in the industry where a large corporation takes the return input
from the user community as an adjunct QC testing environment.. We basically
qualify the major release in the beta drops an Quest development listens and
makes either adjustments or plans for features down the road in addition to
their internal QC and product management roadmap. Here are the Beta followed
by the official product sight for your edification.

Please visit Toad for SQL Server Community (
http://toadforsqlserver.com/beta.jspa ) to try it out.

Please refer to the Beta Release Notes for details on this drop:

Additionally here is the official product link. At this link you will see there
are no documents. Therefore the reason for my email response.
