Can't edit dates when not using mm/dd/yyyy date format for display

Hello Toad Team;

Using 10.1, I get a Toad exception (i.e. not an oracle error but the ‘Error occurred’ popup with the call stack) if I try to update a date in an editable data grid when I don’t have mm/dd/yyyy specified as my date format in the data grid options. I didn’t test all the formats, but I normally use yyyy/mm/dd as my date format and that generates the error, and so does dd/mm/yyyy so I’m guessing the data grid is not taking into account the display format in use when updating. Let me know if this can’t be reproduced or if it could somehow be due to a config problem.

Hi all,
I’m using Toad for Oracle Xpert ver.9.7.2.5 with db admin module.
Problem is that ;when I connect as SYS with sysdba priviliges, but not able to see the icon images Lock/Expire on the left of every USER(s) in the schema browser. I checked/unchecked browser style option “Show LHS Item Images” very many times but makes no change except “Img” column’s appearing & disappearing. When I click on “Img” column , the label “Img” disappears and instead down/up arrow leaves back.
I’ve searched Quest’s Knowledge base and tried all recommended issues and no improvement at all !!.
Before 9.7 , Toad can do this and it’s was a great feature actually.
Will you kindly help me with my problem, otherwise it’s really a bargain to find out which user is locked/expired.

Regards,
Tülin Riva

Hello Tulin,

The information for the image column comes from the “ACCOUNT_STATUS” column
of dba_users. The first thing I would suggest is look at the filter icon (the
one that looks like a funnel). If it is red, then click it and clear the
filter.

Another idea is try this query logged in as SYS and another user. Does the
value in the account_status column change?

select username , account_status

from dba_Users

order by 1

Hi John,
I've cleared the filter icon and closed the SB and opened again. No images.
Unchecked and checked browser style option . No images.
As for the query it's successful, fetched the records with account status whatever they are.
Could the images files missing somewhere or the image type problem ?
below the screenshot of SB.

Fixed for December patch.

Merry Christ - err - Happy Holidays! We’ve fixed over 26 bugs for this patch and about 33 for the last patch. Who said we don’t do maintenance releases?

Do you have the option under Startup - "Check for DBA views" checked? Looks like
the query that is populating the SB is using all_users instead of dba_users.

It does look that, Ed. I’ve been emailing Tulin offline. I have his
Toad.ini and he has that option checked. I just asked for a spool sql.

Thanks Ed and John,

In Toad Options, I've checked "Check for access to DBA views" (it was unchecked) then Icon images came back for USERS tab.

Again thanx for your kind help,
