Advanced Templates

An advanced template allows you to use pipe characters literally in the code
template. A simple (not advanced) template uses the pipe character to determine
caret placement when the template has been inserted into the Editor.

An advanced template uses to determine where the caret will go. Advanced
templates also support inserting data from clipboard. Clipboard data is inserted
where displays.

To use the advanced template

In the View | Toad Options | Editor - Behavior page, click Code Templates.
In the template grid, select the advanced checkbox beside the template you
want to use in the advanced mode.
