Hi - Currently I have SQL Server 2008R2 Developer and SQL Server Express installed locally. I am planning to install SQL Server 2014 Developer locally soon as well. It would be very helpful to know how to connect to different instances of SQL Server in Toad. It seems that Toad for SQL Server connects to the default instance. How do I get it to connect to SQL Server Express (or to SQL Server 2014 Developer)? I’m using Toad for SQL Server 5.5.
I figured this out. When creating a new connection, enter server name\instance name in the “Server name:” box.
