I have tried to get the create user scripts for several schema owners of out Toad for Oracle versions 12.6 and 12.8, and both seem to have the same problem. If I go to the Schema Browser and select Users on the left, then select any user and click on the Script tab, I get a bunch of grant and revoke statements, most of which have nothing to do with the user I have selected. Is there something I am doing wrong, or is this a bug?
It sounds like you are looking at a script of “grants on the user’s objects to other users/roles”. To change to a script to create the user, click the first toolbar button on the script tab. In the dialog that appears, go to the “Users” tab, and uncheck the box that says “grants on the user’s objects to other users/roles”. Check/uncheck whatever other boxes you want.
