Degree of parallelism problem in statistic compute with old Oracle versions

In Oracle versions older than 10g, in the statistic compute, “Degree of parallelism”, is not possibile to speicy the degree since the item is disabled.

This happens with 12.6 commercial as well.

As of 10g it works.

I know that perhaps those versions are no longer used so much but if it were possible to fix that it would be nice

For me, this option is enabled in Oracle version 10gR1 and 10gR2, as long as you have the “mode” option set to “Estimate” or “Compute”. You are talking about the “Analyze all objects” window, right?

Yes, that window.

With two connections opened, one for 9.2 and the other for 10.2, as soon as i switch from one to the other that item is enabled or disabled, very same settings for both

By the way, last beta editor is quite unstable and gives plenty of violation errors

Oh, you said “versions older than 10g”, got it. I see it going disabled for 9i, and it DEGREE does work in the dbms_stats command for 9i. I’ll fix it.

Sure it works, I have been using it for years ( it works even in 8i ).

Thank you
