Explain Plan

Toad for Oracle

I do not seem to have ExplainPlan as an option. Is this something that is related to a particular software install, a specific lincensing agreement, a key, permissions within Oracle, or some combination?

I used Explain Plan at a previous job, and I am uncertain about what controls its access.

There is no special licensing for this. It is included in every version of Toad and Oracle.

In the editor, after you enter your query, just do a CTRL+E on it to get the plan. You may get a prompt to create or choose a table to hold the explain plan results, but it will be very easy.
