When I run a script in the editor window, TOAD switches to the “Script Output”
tab. Is there anyway I can have it leave my tabs alone, for example if I have
the DBMS Output tab selected, leave it there.
Thanks,
Mike

Sorry Mike…no such option right now. Maybe a candidate for the Idea Pond.

Okay, thanks Greg.
Seems weird that TOAD thinks it know better than I do which tab I want to see.
There’s probably some technical reason why it brings the Script Output tab
to the top.

Mike

Generally running a script generates output and the thought is that users would
want to see that output.

That makes sense for people running scripts with multiple steps, but in my case,
95% of the time, the script output is just one line:
“PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.”
This means that when I am testing a process over and over again, each time I run
I have to click on the DBMS Output tab to see what I am really interested in.
As a side thought …
I’m probably missing something obvious here, but what is the point of having
Polling Frequency on the DBMS Output tab if you can’t even see that tab
until your process finishes running? ( You can’t see the tab because it is
auto-flipped over to the Script Output tab. )

Mike

For a simple compile like that, try F9 instead of F5.
