Hello,
Were you able to take these steps? The 11.0 Install Guide (in the Docs folder
with your build) includes steps to import settings during or after installation
of 11.0 (from another computer).
To import settings during installation
- On your old computer, open Windows Explorer and locate the Toad settings
folder.
Tip: To find the settings folder, select View | Toad Options | General . The
folder
location is listed in the Application data directory field.
-
Copy the folder to the new computer, a network it can connect to, or a
storage device.
-
Install and open Toad on the new computer.
Note: You need your license key to complete this step.
-
Select Copy previous user files on the Initial Setup wizard.
-
Click and navigate to the copied folder.
-
Click Finish .
Import Settings After Installation
You may need to manually import your settings after installation if:
l You accidentally selected to perform a clean install when you installed a new
version of Toad
l You have already installed Toad on a new computer and your Toad settings are
on
another computer
To import settings after installation
- If your Toad settings are on another computer, complete the following steps:
a. On your old computer, open Windows Explorer and locate the Toad
settings folder.
Tip: To find the settings folder, select View | Toad Options | General . The
folder
location is listed in the Application data directory field.
b. Copy the folder to the new computer, a network it can connect to, or a
storage device.
- Open the settings folder for the new installation of Toad .
Tip: To find the settings folder, select View | Toad Options | General . The
folder
location is listed in the Application data directory field.
-
Close any open instances of Toad.
-
Delete everything in the new settings folder except for the QSAuth11.key
file, if it is present.
Note: QSAuth11.key is a license key issued with old versions of Toad, but it is
still valid
for new versions of Toad. If this file is not in your Toad settings folder, then
you have a
new Toad license key.
-
Open the new installation of Toad.
-
Select Copy previous user files on the Initial Setup wizard.
-
Click and select the Toad settings folder you want to import.
