A webcast series for Toad customers
We’re excited to announce that we’ve developed a new webcast series “Ask Toad” directed toward existing Toad for Oracle users within your organization. These 30-minute live sessions, typically scheduled for the first and third Tuesdays each month, will quickly review a valuable capability of Toad and will include time for questions. Our goal is to help you get the most out of your Toad investment and Q&A is important to that process.
We hope these sessions become a twice-monthly scheduled visit for you, with a chance to ask questions of one of Quest’s Toad consultants. Please join us for our January 15 session:
Webcast series: Ask Toad
“How Do You Enforce Coding Practices in Toad for Oracle?”
Date: Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Time: 12 P.M. CST
Duration: 30 minutes
Toad for Oracle’s Code Analysis feature reviews your code to see if you are following best practices defined by industry standards as well as your personal team’s standards. It goes beyond just a simple syntax and compilation check. Code Analysis scans for known issues, grades the complexity of the code, and reports whether or not it follows rules set for and by your team. We suggest automating this process, perhaps incorporating it into your DevOps build cycle: for example, if some new or changed PL/SQL code fails a code review, make sure the build stops before production.
In this session, Toad consultant Mathew Phan will:
- Discuss the costs of not using code reviews
- Demonstrate Toad’s Code Analysis (in the Editor and using a dashboard)
- Discuss customization of Code Review Rules
- Discuss automating it from Toad Automation Designer and Toad DevOps Toolkit
- Take your questions
