OCI-31167 : XML nodes over 64K in size cannot be inserted

Hi

Just got the error "OCI-31167 : XML nodes over 64K in size cannot be inserted" on a simple select on a table containing two SYS.XMLTYPE fields (in 6.7 and 7.2 beta) :

I'm no more able to view/edit this table via SQL Navigator.

My colleague is able to see the table, but when he wants to see the contents of a big xmltype, SQLnavigator takes all the resources and it take a very long time to open the field.

Any idea, what's happening ?

Hi Martin,

Could you have try to turn off the updateable toolbar button and then try again?

No changes, same error when update option is disabled. The error occurs only on certain records, because, when I run the SQL with another query, I get the results.

First I thought it was a oracle problem, more than a SQL Navigator problem, but the part I don’t understand is that my colleague is able to select these records.

My colleague tells me he has a recurrent problem (even with last beta 4148) when he opens "larges" xml from a field in a table in the editor. The opening works fine, but when he closes the window (with CANCEL) it takes several minutes.

I tried to reproduce the problem and I still get the error mentioned above (new pc, new installation !)
