Is anyone here familiar with Oracle’s ODP.Net? I tried installing the latest version (11.1.0.6.21, though it seems 11.1.0.7.20 was just released) and I’m having issues. The install didn’t seem as clean as the 10.2.0.2.21 version we are using now and I had to move some files around. I also had to modify some registry settings to have things point over to the new Home (though this was necessary in 10.2 as well).
When I triy to connect using the 11g home in TOAD, nothing happens. I click Connect in TOAD and nothing happens. Using my old 10.2 home works fine. When I open up the Oracle Home Editor, I notice that the “Instant Client” is “invalid”. Is this somehow related to my issue? Was this a bad install? Am I missing somethnig obvious? Do I have too many Oracle Homes installed?
Any help would be appreciated. I have provided a listing of my Oracle Homes per the Toad Home Editor below.
