Oracle version for Mac OS X 10.6.8

Hello,

I’m newbie and learning oracle. very much interested in using TOAD.

I have a macbook pro with os x 10.6.8, just downloaded Toad for mac V1.0, now I cannot oracle 10g for mac osx to download. Even on Oracle website they mentioned its no longer available to download.

Can you guide me which version of Oracle is compatible with my OS X and Toad and with instructions on installing.

To answer your question though, there is only an 11gR2 Instant Client available for Mac.

However, you don’t need to install the client, you should only need the JDBC driver which you can get here www.oracle.com/…/jdbc-112010-090769.html (get ojdbc6.jar).

When TOAD Mac starts (or from the Preferences) you can browse to the JDBC jar file you have downloaded.

Thanks Kevin for your prompt help.

I was able to download the ojdbc6.jar file and installed Toad on my MAC but Toad immediately crashes after it gets loaded.

I guess as this is not the right forum, I will post this issue in the Mac Forums for the new issue.
