Partition script problem

Toad 12.9.0.38b x64

Trying to get table script for partition (run as owner of the table).

Access violation at address 0000000008500657 in module 'Froggy_129b.exe'. Read of address 000000000000001D
Tried refresh, restart Toad and nothing ... all the time same error
Froggy is mine rename of toad.exe to prevent some "DBA" task on killing session...just renamed Toad.exe to that name-done that in last one year all the time with no problems.

This was in previous release...

12.9.0.39 has the same problem.

Damir - I haven’t been able to replicate yet, but partitioning can get kind of complex and use different types, so there might be something specific to that specific setup. Do you get that AV on all partitioned tables? If not, maybe that’ll help narrow down the differences. If you can send the DDL for the table that would help, or specify the type of partitioning being used (Range, List, Hash, System, Supartions, etc.) maybe I’d have better luck trying to replicate. Thanks.

Hi, in attachment are table as well all index that belong to that table

Thanks Damir. I setup your table locally, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to replicate the problem, and nothing stands out on why it might be getting an AV. What Oracle db and client version are you using?

OC 11.2.0.3 x64, db 11.2.0.3 x64 hpux 64

This cone on previous version...will look and try to understand why on some partitions doesn't make problems

The matter of fact I have problems even with normal tables…what to reset (that in some upgrade) went “crazy”?

Post the log file, Damir.

I have posted 4 logs from Exception handler, send table and index scripts by mail (do not know now to whom…delete history) and now you asking me for a log…could you be more specific?

The Toad.el file. Anytime you have an error, post it. The posting of the call stack above is helpful, but it’s helpful to see the entire log file as it may contain other exceptions preceding this one.

Is this “toad.el” …which I didn’t find on mine whole disk!

Try again, but just send it to me if you don’t mind (michael.staszewski@quest.com). Toad World’s mail gateway has some room for improvement to say the least. Several on here have problems with attachments. It looks like yours was stripped as well.

This may be related:

In .39 and .40, I’ve been getting “Access violation at address 0000000008505727 in module ‘Toad.exe’. Read of address 000000000000001D” while attempting to script one non-partitioned table. This is the last SQL spooled before that AV:

Select CONSTRAINT_NAME, OWNER, TABLE_NAME, CONSTRAINT_TYPE, SUBSTRB(STATUS, 1, 1) STATUS

, SEARCH_CONDITION

, SUBSTRB(DEFERRABLE, 1, 1) deferrable, SUBSTRB(DEFERRED, 1, 1) deferred, SUBSTRB(GENERATED, 1, 1) generated

, VALIDATED

, RELY

, VIEW_RELATED

FROM SYS.DBA_CONSTRAINTS

WHERE OWNER = :pOwner

AND CONSTRAINT_TYPE in (:ct, ‘?’, ‘F’)

AND Constraint_name in (‘SYS_C0015371’,‘SYS_C0015372’)

and not ((length(CONSTRAINT_NAME) = 30) and

(substr(CONSTRAINT_NAME, 1, 4) = ‘BIN$’) and

(substr(CONSTRAINT_NAME, 27, 4) = ‘==$0’))

order by table_name, constraint_name

The above query returns 2 rows corresponding to the 2 NOT NULL constraints on the table’s columns.

This works fine in 12.8GA…

Thanks!

Rich
