Saved files and upper case file extensions

Toad for Oracle Base Edition (32-bit)
24.2.79.4007

Saving a file in Toad sometimes uses uppercase file extensions, why is this? It's just plain weird and non standard - I don't know of any other program that saves as uppercase file extensions!

  1. Open up CLOB editor in grid, type a name without an extension, e.g. myfile using default Text Files (*.txt)
  2. Click Save.
  3. File saved as myfile.TXT not myfile.txt (to match the selected file type description)

Paul

I agree, that seems non-standard. Notepad gives lowercase extension when you do this. Changing to lowercase.
