Hello,
I’ve already used Toad for mysql using ssh connections using passwords to connect as root to the database.
Now as I want to secure the connections to the DB I’m wondering if it is possible to connect to the Database using the unix_socket authentication via ssh.
I guess it would work if I would connect as “root” to the server via ssh and leave the password empty.
The problem that arises is that I’m using Ubuntu and as most of you know there is no root user, but I did not found a sudo option in the connection.
Anyone knows if it is possible to do what i’m thinking about?
Maybee just a “sudo” checkbox is missing in the ssh options in Toad, but I’m not sure.
Kind Regards
