I think you’ll just have to kill it. It sounds like it thinks it is still
running but it isn’t. If you can let me know how I can reproduce the
problem I’ll try to fix it.
What I was doing was importing data from 17 excel spreadsheets… one at a
time… approx 1000 records per file
I did a commit after each one… but
I tried to get fancy and not close and reopen the import table data wizzard
between files…
Another thing it does is sometimes when you select the excel file and it first
shows you the data…
that’s blank sometime…
fir example my version of toad only suports excel 2003… the files were sent
to me in excel 2007.
I save them as excel 2003s’ but sometime if I forget it can’t read the
excel 2007 file.
To make sure that did not happen again… I converted them all first.

I do see the option to import .xlsx files (excel 12) once you actually pick the
file from the directory… I am going to reboot my machine in the process.

OK. I’ll test on the current version with some random error and just
make sure it’s handled gracefully. That’s about all I can do…
Oops - you are right. 9.1 should handle xlsx. If you have a particular file that
causes problems, please send it to me (along with table DDL) and I will test it
in the current version.
Access violation at address 00404EBC in module ‘toad.exe’. Read of
address 7373655F.
we all get the 2nd one a lot from time to time…
What I am havibng to do is load one file, commit, shutdown toad and restart.
Even that does not help sometimes.
