The network path was not found when connecting to my SQL Server

Hi Can you please help me as I am new to Toad.

Trying to connect to my SQL Server I put the correct servername username and password but still have this error

“The network path was not found”

Hi,

I guess you are trying to connect to remote server, right? Did you try with other clients (app, SQL Server Management Studio…)? Are you (your computer) and the SQL server in the same LAN? Is firewall turned ON on server machine?

Are you using default port for SQL Server (1433)? Try with the following Server name: serverlocation,1433 (for example 192.168.0.1 comma port number).
