Toad for SQL Server 6.6 - no wonder it's free..

This is the second time in the last few years I have attempted to use Toad. The first time I gave up on my old PC (XP) due to constant (and I mean every single action) hangs. I thought I’d give it a try this time on both windows 7 and 10, and guess what. Once again - hanging on every single action. Set a filter? Hang. Click on a table? Hang. Open Options and set one? Yep you guessed it… hang. This is occurring on 3 different pc’s with 3 different windows versions, and both local and server databases. Don’t ask me for system specs - just install it on any pc - you’ll see.

Is this actually the same Toad software as the version I use regularly - 4.5, or is it some rib-tickling idea of a joke? If so - man you are funny. If this is actually meant to be genuine software, and you are in charge, I suggest you sack the entire development and testing departments, because the joke is squarely on you every time you pay their undeserved salaries.

I won’t be wasting my time downloading Toad again. I shall just stick with 4.5. Don’t bother asking me for any info as I will put as much effort into replying as the Toad team did creating this garbage.

Dear Sir or Madam !

As a SQL Server DBA, I have been working with Toad SS since 2005. Though I completely understand your vitriolic comments and I have had them over the years as well.

THE DIFFERENCE is I have been working with the developers and management as a Beta tester and I feel that the current group is on the right track in resolving these “Legacy core product issues” … The Development team has been very responsive to any reported problems and they have the full support of TSS product management to resolving concerns such as yours and mine.

Again there is nothing in your comments that I can take exception with, however, I respectfully request that you consider joining the BETA program and stay with it for the Current TSS 6.7 beta cycle is clearly addressing your concerns. I believe that the next golden release will be much better, but as we both know no software is ever perfect.

If you want to discuss this more feel free to reach out to me here or at my personal email …

Respectfully

Hank Freeman
