TOAD - TFS schema name

Hi,

We have a problem with parallell development in diffrent database schemas.
When export to TFS all file name starts with schema_name.file_name.

Merging in TFS between diffrent schemas is not working becouse the file name i diffrent.

Is it possible to remove schema_name from the file name when export to TFS.

Team Coding uses the Schema Name – Object Name naming to track revision
history, so removing the Schema name is not possible. Team Coding provides a
User Mapping (Mirroring ) capability that allows users to work on objects in
their own Sandbox schema , which might accomplish what you need to do. Are you
using this feature?

You can use the same names we default to on a clean TFS 2010

I don’t think this will work.

When we have 2 development branches and want to merge all database changes
between branches.

I don’t understand why SQL Navigator or TOAD specifies all files with schema
name. This stops out development process becouse we cannot merge database code.

Hello Tobias,

The current version of Toad does not support TFS branching and merging .

Without a more detailed understanding of your development scenario, I can only
give a very general answer. You probably need to perform an initial merge using
TFS in Visual Studio. Compile all of your objects in Oracle and get a base line
to use TFS. Team Coding can then create and initial source control version in
TFS. You could then use Mirroring (User mapping) to enable users to work in
their own schemas, and tracks changes made by individual users.

Stephen

No we are not using User Mapping (Mirroring ). But I don’t think that will sovle my problem.

I need to Merge database code from two or more branches, database code is in diffrent schemas.
