Unable to Generate Model Comparison Report in TDM 7.3 After Comparing Two Data Models

Hi,

I'm using TDM version 7.3 and trying to compare two data models to generate a report showing the differences.

After opening both models in TDM, I followed these steps:

  • Model → Compare and Generate Report
  • Selected the model to compare
  • Chose the required options under Comparison Rules
  • Selected Compare All under Select Object Types

In the Differences screen, I can see all the differences between the two models. However, when I click Next, I don't see any option to generate a model comparison report in the review section.

Could you please let me know what I might be missing?

Hi,

The option to generate the model comparison report is available one step earlier — on the Differences screen, where the compared items are displayed.

To generate the comparison report, can you please try the following:

  1. Open both models and go to Model → Compare and Generate Report.
  2. Select the model to compare and choose your options under Comparison Rules.
  3. Select Compare All under Select Object Types and proceed.
  4. On the Differences screen (see attached screenshot), click the Report button located at the bottom-left of the window — before clicking Next.
  5. The report will be generated based on the differences currently shown

The absence of a Report button on the final review page is by design.

Thanks for your comments. On the Differences screen, I can see the Report button, and I'm able to generate the comparison report successfully.
