Unable to install - DB2 freeware version

Hi,

I downloaded the freeware version and tried to install it. But whenever I click on the exe, I get the MSIEXEC pop-up (similar to the one mentioned in thread - http://tda.inside.quest.com/thread.jspa?threadID=29502&tstart=0&messageID=109837).

As per the suggestion given, I tried doing a silent install and this is the error from the log file.
ToadInstall.exe /S /Lx “C:\temp\installLog.txt”

These are the last few lines that I have copied. It say unable to open response file. i dont know where this is. Please help me to install it.

Please verify that:

  • you are using the ToadforDB2_Freeware_4.6.2.573.exe installer
  • you have tried copying the .exe to your c:\temp directory

Then try running the following from a dos command prompt:

C:\temp>ToadforDB2_Freeware_4.6.2.573.exe /Lx “C:\temp\installlog2.txt”

(note the above does not use the /S flag)

Then please explain if you see the Quest installer window appear.
Also, what OS are you running on?
What rights (i.e. admin) do you have on that OS?
