10.5.1.3 SQL Loader Wizard problem?

Afternoon all,

I think that when running the sql loader wizard, it isn’t setting the
“start in” folder to be that of the control file. I have a simple
control file and the data file in the same location and the control file
contains this:

INFILE ucn.dat

This hasn’t changed since Toad 9.5 at least. Today when I ran it, I got
told that sql loader couldn’t find the data file ucn.dat. If I changed
the control file to this:

INFILE "h:\ucn.dat"

Then everything worked. This is new behaviour since either 10.5GA or the
new patch release. I’m not sure if I have run this under 10.5GA and this
is the first time I’ve run it under 10.5.1.3.

Other than the version of Toad, nothing else has changed.

Cheers,
Norm. [TeamT]

well the ‘start in’ folder has actually been the application data directory for quite awhile, and the call to execute sqlldr.exe hasn’t changed in a long time either, so something else is up Norm, but I’ll try to reproduce it in a little bit

Mark,

It's all gone very strange now.

I though it could have been because the data and control files were on a
network drive. SO I moved the folder to c:, edited the filename to
remove the path and ran it - it worked.

Aha!

I went back to the network drive, changed the control file there back to
no path again, and ran it. It ran as well. :frowning:

Restarted the SQL Loader wizard and it still ran. Rebooted Toad and it
still ran.

I'm sorry for leading you up the path on this one, it seems to be a
conspiracy to make me look stupid here! (Trust me, you don't need a
conspiracy!)

thanks for letting me know Norm. This is exactly my frustration with McAfee right now, I can no longer get it to misbehave when it so clearly was before.

Hi Mark,

It seems that this problem re-appeared in my laptop installation for the version 13.1 R2 2018. Although the version 13.0 works fine. what could be the reason of it?

Thanks
Ali
