I am trying to open a .sql file in toad 5.0.444. Any file I try to open crashes.
It does not crash opening the same file in previous versions of Toad (4.6/4.1)

I have 4.1, 4.6 and 5.0 installed on my laptop XP SP3. Does it with or without
antivirus (AVG) enabled.

What else can I furnish to help me figure out what is causing the crash?

Please make sure you have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed on the computer you
launch Toad from.

Thanks,

Seems like it might not be the problem of ToadSS but some hotfix MS published
recently. I made a quick search and figured out that quite a few people have the

same problem. Please take a look at:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxtoolsdev/thread/7f1d42a1-98c3-4299-b270-00ee116fd09c
and especially at the post stating that only 2.0.50727.3603 seems to have this
problem (which btw was installed by Microsoft Security Bulletin MS09-061) and
the post stating that “…installing the hotfix for kb963676
(2.0.50727.4005) made the problem go away.…”

Hope this will help.

Igor.

KB963676 is superceded by KB981574 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981574 I am
in the process of obtaining the hotfix now.

Why would the previous versions of Toad work for the same action but not version
5.0.

I hope it helps too. J
