Team Coding Dashboard:

The following are revised and updated notes for the new Team Coding Dashboard:

Important Note: The Code Collections, Team Coding Viewer and Team Coding VCS Browser buttons and menu items have been removed from the main Team Coding Toolbar and Utilities - Team Coding menu. These functions are now accessed from the main team coding toolbar by selecting the ‘Team Coding Dashboard’ menu item, or from the Utilities - Team Coding - Team Coding Dashboard menu.

Code Collections Tab

The Collection items grid allows multi select. To perform any action select the collection item(s) in the grid. You can perform actions on multiple Code Collections items or Code Collections. Create Revision and Compile into database buttons has been removed. You can access these functions by right clicking on the grid, or from the main Team Coding Dashboard tool bar.

Code Collection Actions:

  1. *Create revision* - Creates a new revision in the VCS Project for the selected code collection items.  

  2. *Compile latest revision* - Compiles the latest revision from the VCS Project in to the database.

  3. *Compare and Synchronize DB with VCS* - Compares the Database version of Objects with the version of Objects in the VCS Project. Missing objects, or objects with differences are listed. The output window enables the user to compare the contents of files. The user has the option to create a new revision.

  4. *Compare and Synchronize VCS with DB* - Compares the VCS Project version of controlled objects with objects in the DB. Missing objects, or objects with differences are listed. The output window enables the user to compare the contents of files. The user has the option to compile latest revision.

Controlled Objects Tab

  1. Replaces the Team Coding Viewer.

  2. 'View Details' tool button/menu item is removed. This is replaced with right click menu option 'Show/Hide Detail Information'. The values formerly displayed in the Details window will display in the 'Detail Information' section of the grid when this option is toggled on. Turning this option on may result in slower load times for the Controlled Objects grid. 

  3. Can *Create Revision* or*****Compare and Synchronize DB with VCS*** **for selected controlled objects by selecting on the Dashboard toolbar, or using the right click menu on the grid.

  4. Added the ability to multi-select objects for compare contents. To do this select the objects you wish to view. Right click and select the 'Compare Contents' menu item. The selected list displays in the output tab, with 'Compare Contents' diff viewer displayed.

VCS Browser Tab

  1. Added ability to filter VCS projects to only show projects that are used by Team Coding. If Team Coding uses Code Collections, all projects used by Code Collections are listed. If Code Collections are not used, only the default Team Coding VCS Project is listed.

  2. Added ability to *Create Revision***,** *Compile latest revision*, *Compare and Synchronize VCS with DB*, *Compare and Synchronize DB with VCS* for a VCS Project. To do this select the project and run the action from the toolbar or right click menu.

  3. Added ability to *Create Revision***,** *Compile latest revision*, *Compare and Synchronize VCS with DB*, *Compare and Synchronize DB with VCS* for Team Coding controlled items (green checks) selected in the details pane. To do this select the items and run the action from the toolbar or right click menu.

Team Coding Dashboard Output Tab (Import Export Tab)

This tab replaces the Team Coding Import / Export Dialog that was previously called from Code Collections ‘Create new revision’ and ‘Compile latest revision’. The caption on this tab will change based on the action that is currently in progress.

  1. Replaced the Import/Export selection tree with a standard Toad grid. This adds the ability to sort, group and export data before processing.

  2. Combined the selection grid and the Export Results tab on the same tab. Results can now be viewed in the same window as the selected objects.

  3. Added the ability to add additional object to 'Export/Import' before processing. To do this, simply tab back to Code Collections, Controlled Objects or VCS Browser and select more objects

  4. Add 'Compare Contents' tab to the output. This enables the user to scroll the objects for processing a compare contents between the DB version and the VCS version of the object.

Team Coding Configuration:

The Team Coding Configuration Window and Team Coding Status Window are combined into a single window with 2 tabs. The first Tab has Team Coding configuration and install information. The second Tab has Team Coding Status information.

Team Coding Configuration Tab

There are no changes to Team Coding Configuration or installation in this update.

Team Coding Status Viewer Tab

The status viewer window has been added to the configuration form as a tab. The Status viewer includes the Team Coding Status Handlers framework. Team Coding status handlers attempt to provide more detailed information about Team Coding Configuration and VCS configuration issues, and guide the user to possible solutions to correct. While the framework is fully in place, this is a work in progress. Some of the icons have been modified for this release, and may be tweaked again. New status checks and status handlers will be added over the coming weeks. Expect the details and the number of status checks in this window to evolve.

For this update:

  1. Removed the panel with green/red status checks.

  2. Standard Team Coding checks from the old status panel are now shown in the Status Checks Tree.

  3. The status tree contains 3 sections, Team Coding Status Checks for Team Coding related status items. VCP Status Checks for VCP specific status items, Team Coding session messages, which are unchanged.

  4. Items that are correct and do not require attention show a green check mark.

  5. Items that have generated an error or warning will display an appropriate icon. These items will have additional information. Clicking on the item displays detailed information on the problem. 

  6. Expanding the item in the tree will display any error messages generated by Toad and a list on one or more possible solutions. If available, double clicking on the solution opens the window for the solution. e.g. Configuration window, VCS Configuration, Code Collections etc.
