Toad World® Forums

[BUG] - Forum Interface HTTP 401 error

#1

I’m using the new forum interface in Toad and I keep recieving the following error. Once I logout and Sign back in to the forums it goes away.

#2

Are you receiving this in response to browsing the forums within Toad or is it just popping up as you’re using Toad. There’s a background thread that queries
for new questions periodically.

Ok, it must be the background thread failing. Trying to think what conditions would result in this… drawing a blank. Are you using a proxy server? Is this
reproducible in any way (even if the reproducibility is just that Toad must be opened for several hours and it happens)?

I believe there is a proxy involved on our network but I’m not
sure of the details. I’ve had connectivity issues with other applications
before. I was looking for a proxy setting in Toad (like in browsers) but
couldn’t find it. The problem is repeatable. After logging in it takes about
30mins – 1hr before it will start giving the error.

There are no proxy settings at this time although they need to be added. For next beta I’ve added a log file that will capture any HTTP exceptions that are
raised. The filename is ToadWorldException.log and will be located in your User Files directory. If you do not know the path to your User Files folder see View|Options|General options page. It lists the application data directory used by Toad. Please send
that file to me offline. michaelstaszewski at questcom
