Cannot relocate "Change active database session" icon

Toad for Oracle version 10.1.5.3

Attached is a picture of an icon which is part of Query Builder, to show the icon I am talking about.

Issue: I also had this icon available while in Editor windows, using SQL. I accidentally did something to remove it from when I am in an Editor window, and cannot for the life of me find it to make it available again.

Any ideas?

Brian

Morning,

in Toad 10.6 the following will restore your “change session” icon to
the “File” toolbar - which is where mine currently lives.

  • Right-click on any toolbar that you want to restore the button to.

  • Select Customise.

  • Click on the Commands tab.

  • Select the Session category on the LHS.

  • Drag the button from the RHS to the toolbar you want to put it on.

  • Click Close.

Alternatively, right click the toolbar and select Restore Defaults, but
be aware that this action will restore all toolbars to their defaults.

Cheers,
Norm. [TeamT]

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I am on 10.5.1.3, which is not under my controll, and the icon is not there to select from.

I think it was doing a restore defaults that took it away, in trying to solve a different issue at that time.

Which raises the question, how did I ever have the icon? (Rhetorical question…) I know I did; now that its gone, it is sorely missed.

I am going to inquire about upgrading.

Did you try to restore default toolbars though after Norm suggested it... just
for giggles? I have 10.5.1.3 here and removed the icon and then restored
defaults. It returns.

Also, in 10.5 the change session toolbutton is under the File category in the
customization window.

Hi Michael,

Hmmm. I see from your screen dump that the change session button appears
under “file” category. That may explain why Brian is not finding it. In
10.6 it’s definitely under the “Session” category even though it appears
on the “File” toolbar.

Cheers,

I looked under all categories, no joy. Oh well, thanks. - Brian

?! Be sure that you are going through the Editor’s toolbar customization window.
When you have the Editor maximized, the Editor’s toolbar is merged with that of
the main Toad window. You have to enter the customization dialog from the
Editor’s toolbar. To be sure that you are clicking in the correct place,
un-maximize the Editor window if it is maximized and try again. It’s there for
sure. It would help if you could post some screenshots of what you are seeing.
