Under TOAD V13 we see some error message under “Check for updates” : “unexpected format of version file ver.txt. Expected Major.Minor.Release.Build”
How could it be corrected? We not changed it.
I’m not sure why you would be getting that message, other than possibly, there is a known issue with ‘Check for updates’ that is related to a Toad World issue (not Toad specifically).
But, if you are on version 13, then you have the latest GA version, so no updates would be available. 13.1 is currently in beta and is available for download on the Beta page.
This occurs when your organization is serving up content differing from what we have posted. For example, one user’s company was presenting him with a login page of some sort. This is the link that Toad pulls from… http://community-downloads.quest.com/toadsoft/ORACLE/VERSION/ver.txt
Load that page in your browser and if you see anything different from the following then your organization is intervening.
