Columns render different in Shift-F9 versus F5

Hi Jeff,

Yes, that makes total sense. It is not related to beta.

Things happen very differently in F5 vs F9 execution. This topic has come up often enough for me to create this post about it, which I post links to as needed.

Since F5 grids are showing all results as string, that explains why summarize doesn't work. That feature is built into the grid and meant for numeric data. I don't think I'll be able to do anything about that. Re: large numbers in scientific notation after running with F5 - I'll have to get back to you on that. Not sure if I can fix that one or not either, but I feel a little more hopeful about that one.

You make an excellent point about exporting all grids to excel. Below is a workaround for that which works around the scientific notation problem. It is a little bit convoluted, but if a lot of data is involved this will run faster than F5. I agree it would be nice to do this in the Editor. Give me some time to think about that. Maybe I can work something out with the Pinned Grid feature.

Update: I just found that if you put this at the beginning of your scripts, F5 won't convert your large numbers into scientific notation. It doesn't help with summarizing though.
