I have a new and old database with an equipment table. I need to make sure that all the data has moved from old to new but the column names have been modified.
The compare tool compares same column names only.
How might I tell it that 'name' is now 'eq_name' and 'install' is now 'install_date' so that it will compare these mismatched columns?
Which version of Toad do you have?
I added column mapping in the data compare window several versions ago. See screenshot below, where I am comparing one table to another with different column names. The columns are matched up automatically if the names are the same, but you can manually map them if they are different (I manually mapped them below)
Main menu -> Database -> Compare -> Data
version 17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17.17 hahaha.
We were so pleased with that version number. I remember it fondly.
You can manually map columns in that version.
