Connection Problems

Toad for IBM DB2

Hi,

So I am a total newb when it comes to Toad. Never used it before but have heard good things.

I am using the freeware version of Toad for DB2 (4.0.1.921). The DB I am trying to connect to is on a z/OS box. I setup the catalog entry as follows.

Host Name = IP address of server
Location Name = Name of Database

When I try to connect, I get the following error message:
“Connection to [AS] platform is not supported.”

Can someone please walk me through setting up a catalog and connection to a DB2 database on a z/OS system. In English. I am not a DBA, and while I do write a lot of SQL, its mostly for the purpose of report creation and data analysis.

I am sorry for the misinformation but apparently the freeware version does not
support z/OS connections.
