I cannot reproduce this using Toad 16.1. Are you getting the AV when just navigating to the "Unit Testing (utPLSQL)" snippets category or are the snippets shown, but you're getting the AV when trying to select or double click one?

Have you modified your Code Snippets in any way or are they still configured as they were when Toad was first installed? You can try the following...

  1. Navigate to Toad's Application Data Directory. Its location is seen in Toad Options on the General page.
  2. Navigate to the User Files directory
  3. Close Toad
  4. Rename CodeSnippets.json
  5. Start Toad
  6. Try your scenario again

If this describes the steps to reproduce your bug, it was fixed in version 16.3. It sure looks like the same bug based on the call stack.

  • Open Code Snippets
  • Switch Snippet Category to SQL Optimizer Hints (or any with a long list of snippets - not necessary but makes the AV more likely)
  • Open Options window.
  • Cancel out of options window
  • Mouse over Code Snippet items.
  • Bug: The text will change as you mouse over items. Sometimes it throws an AV.
