Hi,
When doing a Model -> Generate Change Script and comparing from the model to a sql server 2008 database, the reverse engineering of the sql db does not seem to be able to detect the increment and seed values of a bigint identity primary key field. I have them set at 1,1 in the model and in the database (verified in SSMS table design page), but in the differences window they show as blank on the sql db side and therefore as a difference.
Is this enough info to reproduce?
Also, to confirm, int identity primary key fields work fine i.e. increment and seed are recognised on the sql db side and therefore do not show as differences.

We were able to reproduce your issue, it seems to be a bug. Bigint identity is not being reverse engineered correctly, which results in the problem you describe.
An issue TDM-1293 has been created. The fix will be probably implemented in the next Beta version of TDM.

Hi Lukas,
I don’t think this fix made it into v5.4 as I am still seeing the problem - do you know if it will be in the next release? If so, do you have an estimate for when that may be? (I have quite a few bigint fields now and they are making the change script function a bit difficult to work with now)

Hi Lukas,
Apologies for the delay in this, I have finally got around to testing the beta and it works great!
The beta does give a big warning about save file incompatibility with previous versions so I have uninstalled it and am back on v5.4. Do you have a rough timeframe for when this beta will go live?

Hi Lukas,
I just tried v5.5 and it worked great! I didn’t even realise it was out yet – doesn’t TDM usually notify the user of new releases? It has done previously I think, but I couldn’t find any relevant settings in options.
