KB5066782, broke CaC Auth

Good Morning,

Hopefully I can get some help with this. I work in a highly-regulated environment where we have to use smart card authentication to access our databases. Last week, we applied the October OS patch and CaC authentication stopped working. After investigating the issue more, the patch disables CSP (Cryptographic Service Provider) and enforces the use of KSP (Key Storage Provider). I was able to use their temporary fix to get everything up and running again. But it states in the KB article that the workaround will be removed April 2026. Is there a version of TOAD that supports KSP? This also broke SQL Plus and SQL developer, but those are Oracle products.

Do you use an Oracle client to connect to the database? If so, I believe this is an Oracle issue and not a Toad issue.

We have no special code for things like CaC, CSP and KSP. The Oracle client handles all of that.

Yes, we are using Instant Client to make those connections. Thank you for the insight.
