Kill session in RAC environment
Hi there
I have troubles with killing session in RAC environment. I am using “scan IP”
for connecting to my database with
following tnsnames.ora:
grid_test =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hostid.si)(PORT = 1522))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(service_name = test_apl )
)
)
If I try to kill the session in other instance than those I am connected, I get
an error message:
No TNSNames entry found for instance xxx. SQL not executed.
Kill session in same instance is OK
Some help will be appreciated.
Thank you and best regards!

If you try the toad beta- John fixed this recently by adding the new oracle kill
command in 11G that works across instances.
Thank you, Bert
Best regards!

prior to 11g using Toad 11, when you want to kill a session in RAC, you need to
