MySQL Version - Any update plans?

Are there any plans to update the packaged MySQL version to a newer version? Preferably over 8.0? With the release of MySQL 8.0 many new features were included which will expand the list of supported functions when writing your own SQL to process the output. MySQL 8.0 was originally released on 4/19/18 so almost 2 years ago.

Its now May 2022 and Local Storage MySQL is still at 5.7. There are many powerful features that are available in 8.0 that cannot be utilized. Please consider updating.
