No oracle clients installed

I installed an oracle client then 64-bit toad and I when I load toad, I get message “you have no oracle clients installed”

Hi Peter,

Make sure your Oracle client matches your Toad version. In this case, you’ll want to make sure you have a 64-bit Oracle client to work with your 64-bit Toad.

Thanks,

Dennis

Not true – Toad 32-bit can only work with 32-bit client. The Toad application bit size MUST match the client bit size in order for things to work.

Just one digression. Toad 64 bit needs Oracle 64 bit client.

Toad 32 bit can work against both client versions…but it is recommended to have pairs (32-32, 64-64).
