Not able to connect Oracle

Hi,

I tried to connect Oracle Client through TOAD for Data Analysts 3.1, but I am getting the following message:

‘Server didnot respond within the specified timeout interval’.

Even, I went to the options-Database-Timeouts- and changed the timings but still getting the same message.

Please help me to resolve this issue. Thanks

What did you set you timeout value to? I have mine at 120. Can you connect with another app? SQL* Plus? SQL Developer? Toad for Oracle.

If there was no listener or bad user id or password you would get an Oracle error. The fact that it isn't responding makes me think the database is there but it is really slow.
