wow. trying to read what pops up when I enter this question and the display goes away too quickly.
have an issue. when working at home with Vpn through a verizon fios connection I get a disconnect message from oracle after about 10 mins of activitiy. Not in activity but activity querying against the database.
I am working in a sql window in toad and will eventually run against the database with the sql I am writing but the connection gets dropped before I have time to run the query. Is this common? is there something that can be done to fix it??

Ask your self one simple question.
Is this problem happening also when working from Oracle SQL*Plus opened session?
If yes-problem is not Toad.
If No-ask your network guys to add exception for Toad …they are cutting “unknown” connection for longer use or no activity.
