pick-list window goes blank once I start typing

Used to narrow the result set once I started typing. Now, as soon as I type the 1st letter the pick-list window goes blank. A choice will appear once I finish typing in a full name.

Michael, I had mentioned having an option to eliminate synonyms that start with slash (/) - is that a possibility? I’m still experiencing slowness with the pick-list (I have public synonyms selected), so so was hoping that might help speed it up as well as de-clutter the list.

Please provide an example for the first issue. Peter sent me an offline email where aliases are no longer functional. Is this your case as well?

I see the SB also has this option. I've logged a issue here to add it to Code Insight as well.

Type the following:

SELECT * FROM dba_repkey_columns drc

WHERE drc.

wait for pick-list to appear (or type ctrl-T) - will contain 3 columns. Type “o”

pick-list window goes blank

Type “oname” and ONAME appears in pick-list.

Another problem:

type:

SELECT * FROM sys.dba_repkey_columns drc

WHERE drc.

when table is prefixed with schema name, pick-list window is blank. Type “o” and 3 columns appear but 1st one (COL) is highlighted - s/b ONAME

Ok, I think this is the same issue. I have it on my todo list for today.

option to eliminate synonyms that start with slash (/)

In for next beta. Added as a child node to the Editor|Code Assist|Toad Insight Objects tree to exclude these. Default is checked.

in .19 I still have the problem that when I start typing a column name, the pick-list window goes blank. Also, if I select a column from the pick-list, the table alias is still being capitalized.

Ok, I see the blank list with your previous example still. Will investigate.

Regarding the table alias. It's obeying the option to use lower case object names on the Editor|Behavior options page. Do you have that unchecked? It looks like 12.1 is also obeying that option. Are you seeing differently?

I have the option checked. Just tested in 12.1 and it is not capitalizing the alias.

Gotch. I had it unchecked. I'll look this afternoon.

Ok, I think these two issues are now behind us for next beta.

Capitalization of alias is fixed - thanks.

Blank pick-list partially -

I have a column named ALLOW_AUTHENTICATION_FLAG

When I type “al”, pick-list displays column, if I type “all”, pick-list window goes blank, if I type “allo” pick-list displays column.

A separate problem:

UPDATE table1 t1

set t1. <–No pick-list column list displays.

SELECT * FROM table1 t1. <–Pick-list displays fine.

SELECT *

FROM dba_tab_partitions dta

WHERE dta. <-- pick-list displays just fine.

BEGIN

FOR tab_part IN (SELECT *

FROM dba_tab_partitions dta

WHERE dta. <-- no pick-list display

I can reproduce the ALLOW_AUTHENTICATION_FLAG issue and after some time investigating I finally noticed that the parser DLL in this drop seems wrong. The version information is wrong, copyright is way off, and the parser data is very different from that seen
when using the parser's test tool. I'm going to revisit this once we get the right parser binaries in there as I think that is the cause of the first issue. I'll test the other issues with the new parser as well.
