Problem of not being able to select

Hello, I am using TOAD Toad for Oracle Base (64-bit) version 17.0.341.1977. I have been having a problem with this version for a long time. This problem is related to the bar as you can see in the screenshot. When a connection is made, the green bar in the lower right corner suddenly works (I think it is doing something). This problem occurs without running any command.

When this green bar starts to slide, I cannot do anything (select, update etc.).

How can I overcome this problem? What is the problem? Can you help?

If I close and open the application, the problem is solved.

Since it happens right after you make a connection, my guess is that background queries are running to get the list of object names to highlight in the Editor. I don't know why that would prevent you from doing anything else though.

You can turn that option off by unchecking everything in Options -> Editor -> Display -> Highlight Object Names. See if that helps.
