A problem that had existed in a previous version has returned in 15.1. It is the application menu being clobbered after certain operations like this:
I had just run a query in an Editor tab with the session apparently disconnected, and after TOAD silently reconnected, the menu selections were reduced to single letters resulting in the menu appearance shown above.
Cheers,
Russ
I've seen this only in screen shots. Never been able to reproduce it.
Does a quick resize of Toad fix it or is it stuck like that?
I've had this happen too. It seems opening/closing/resizing/fiddling with open windows will restore the "normal" look but I've never made specific note of the action to make it happen or "fix" it.
Minimizing and maximizing the window restores the menu. It is just a minor thing, but I thought you might like to know about it. It first appeared in a previous version then went away and has now returned. It may have something to do with how TOAD refreshes the menu after various operations, and since the silent reconnect is a relative new feature--thank you very much for that--it may simply be needing some TLC connected with that feature.
Cheers,
Russ
I also had it after some of my nasty SQL was causing the Oracle session to crash. Was manually running the reconnect. I'm running Toad 16.0.25 threaded including explain plans.
Work round can be to jump to another connection and back again. Presume just terminating the session from elsewhere while it is running a query may simulate enough of session crash.
I did get the session disconnected icon on the tab out of sync i.e. successfully reconnected (allegedly) but showed as disconnected.
Did the same again but with auto-reconnect on. It collapsed all the command bar.
Bouncing connections sorted that out but again the session button is shows disconnected when it is not.
