Did you select “auto fit columns” in advanced export properties?
Could you show us a screenshot of the difference between 3.7 and 3.8? How does “cells of the first row (containing title) are systematically unmerged with Center option preserved.”

the formatted sheet used as a template before “select to file” with merged cells
the same sheet after “select to file” with unmerged cells !
i 've tried to create new activity using a new spreadsheet but i had the same result.
lot of my scheduled scripts are impacted !
I have to re-open all excel templates to : unmerge cells of title row, move title text from cell A1 to another (never the same from one to another) to simulate the expected effect.
This is particularly annoying ! That was perfect with TDP 3.7.
