SQLNav 6.4: getting invalid too many database links in use erro

Hello, since I’ve upgraded to 6.4 I get a “[1]: ORA-02020: too many database links in use” after working in a session for a few hours. However, I can open another session and execute code with the db link for a while. I don’t have this problem with sql plus and the dba has confirmed that there isn’t an actual problem with the db. Any idea what would cause this?

Hi,

We have not seen the issue before you reported.

Could you please try the following:
Having SQL Navigator 6.4 running, please run Quest SQL Tracker which can be found under All Programs->Quest Software->SQL Navigator 6.4, select SQL Navigator.exe, then star monitoring (menu Process-> Start Monitoring).

Please send us the collection of sql in SQL Tracker log when you get the reported issue again.

I installed SQL Tracker as recommended…and the error hasn’t occurred since. Typical! I think we can consider this resolved. Thanks for your help.
