SQLServer 2026 R1 keeps asking me to install SQL Optimizer

I just installed SQL Server 2026 R1 (fresh install) and the SQL Optimizer for SQL Server on my windows 11 pro laptop, but Toad keeps saying I have additional software to install and would I like to install it now every time I start it up. Install loop?

I re-installed the software twice now but get the same results every time. It doesn't remember the Don't ask again button I click every time I start the application.

Thanks for sharing the issue, our development team has been assign to work on this issue under the TSS-3062 backlog ID.

We expect to publish another 2026 R2 release by the end of May, that will include the fix to this issue, stay tuned and check the release notes once we publish the new version of the Toad for SQL Server
